Father Beats Daughter Over Grades

STAMFORD — A 39-year-old father brutally beat and choked his 13-year-old daughter over her school grades Tuesday night, police said. His wife was arrested for allegedly trying to cover up the child¬†abuse. Carlos Chaparro and his wife Yellka Chaparro, 28, were arrested Thursday afternoon by Stamford police officers after their 13-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son reported a vicious case of child abuse. Carlos was held on a $100,000 bond and both will be arraigned Friday afternoon in state Superior Court in¬†Stamford.
