Louisa, VA – Police say an 8-year-old girl snuck out of her grandparent’s home in the wee hours of the morning last Thursday. At about 3:00 a.m., the child walked to a neighbor’s home and reported that she had been abused. “She had bruises all over her,” Sheriff Donald Lowe said. Her ear had been partially torn. She had blood on her.” In addition to the torn ear, the girl had a broken foot, bruising on her head, legs and arms, and it appeared as if some of her hair had been torn out.



By the time you finish reading this, 15 children will have been abused; In the next five minutes, 30 more; Within the next hour, 360 more; And by tonight, close to 8,000+ children will have suffered from abuse, 5 of which will die. Child abuse has increased 134% since 1980 and is now considered a worldwide epidemic. The high jump in child abuse deaths and the shocking increase in statistics highlights the frightening lack of public knowledge.
