3 charged with felony child abuse

GULFPORT, MS – Members of the Gulfport Police Narcotics Division encountered a shocking scene Tuesday while serving an arrest warrant at 800 Hardy Avenue. Now, two parents and a grandmother are facing charges of felony child abuse after police say they found two toddler aged children locked in dog kennels inside the home. Gulfport police spokesman Sgt. Damon McDaniel said Patrick Aaron Braddock, 35, Brittany Kay Braddock, 26, and Pamela Diane Davis, 60, are each charged with two counts of felony child abuse. READ MORE HERE

DETROIT, MI – A 14-year-old boy was arrested for stabbing his brother to death over a soft drink and a snack. The deadly dispute happened Monday night on Grandville on Detroit’s west side. Police say the 14-year-old fatally stabbed his 18-year-old brother over who would get the carbonated fruit punch and chips. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office is contemplating criminal charges against the boy. OCALA, Florida – Police arrested a man after they said he tried to circumcise his 1-year-old nephew with a kitchen knife. Larry Floyd was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon Saturday. Police said Floyd was staying at the home where the child and his siblings were being babysat, when the babysitter saw Floyd leave a room where the baby was sleeping. Child Pornographer Makes 15 Most Wanted List

David Benjamin Creamer — charged with distribution of child pornography, transportation of obscene materials, firearms violations, money laundering and income tax evasion — has been added to the United States Marshals Service “15 Most Wanted” fugitive list. Director John Marshall today announced the addition of Creamer, wanted in the District of Arizona since December 1997 for violating the terms of his pretrial release.

Investigation of Creamer, 53, began in 1993, focusing on the sales and distribution of CD-ROMs containing child pornography, obscenity and bestiality. The president and founder of the distribution company was Creamer. Between 1992 and 1995, he produced more than 100,000 diskettes for worldwide distribution. His company grossed more than $2.3 million in sales from 1994-95.

“Every time he sent out a new disk, those children were being exploited again,” said Supervisory Deputy Marshal Rick Lovelace, District of Arizona (Tucson sub-office). Lovelace leads the investigation to find Creamer.

In September 1995, a search warrant executed by the U.S. Customs Service, Internal Revenue Service and the Tucson (Ariz.) Police Department at an office and two airplane hangars leased by Creamer turned up many valuable items, allegedly purchased with the proceeds of his illegal business dealings. Items seized included 70 firearms, 80,000 rounds of ammunition and $120,000 in U.S. currency. U.S. Customs Service also seized a Cessna aircraft, two automobiles, two trailers, a 19-foot Larson Runabout boat and seven acres of land in Pima County, Ariz.

“He was living in a section of Tucson where people don’t have garages. They have airplane hangars,” said Lovelace.

In June 1997, a federal grand jury in Arizona indicted Creamer on 23 counts of criminal activity. He was arrested, arraigned and released on bond that same month. A trial date was set for March 1998, but he failed to report to Pretrial Services in December 1997. He has been on the lam since then.

“He’ll probably assume a new life, doing what he has done before in another part of the country,” said Lovelace.

Man charged with rape of child

Pennsylvania – Sayre Borough Police reported the arrest of 23-year-old Athens resident, Jason M. White, on Feb. 1, for several charges related to illegal sexual contact with a child. Police were called by a mother who stated that as she returned to a Sayre Borough residence she heard her child crying upstairs. She stated that she ran upstairs to find the child with his pants off and White was just pulling his pants up. She then grabbed the victim, who told the mother that “Jason” had hurt (the victim). WHITFIELD COUNTY, Georgia – A Whitfield County man who already on probation is facing serious criminal charges after authorities say he got a 15-year old girl pregnant. Joseph Brock, 36, of Whitfield County is facing one count of aggravated child molestation and statutory rape of a nearby neighbor who is only a teenager. According to the arrest report, the case against Brock began when a 16-year old was taken to a local hospital by her parents. Doctors reportedly told the parents the girl was 5-months pregnant which meant she was impregnated when she was only 15. READ MORE HERE

A 21-year-old Missouri father has been charged with felony child abuse after his baby son died from a traumatic brain injury last month. Cody Bunch of Festus told police three-month-old Aiden was injured when he fell over while carrying him. Aiden was hurt on January 6 and the infant died at St. Louis Children’s Hospital after he was taken off life support four days later. After doctor’s discovered evidence of seven prior injuries, Bunch was charged on January 16 with ‘child abuse resulting in death’ and he is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $500,000, cash-only bond. Mom of suicide victim vows to make schools more accountable for harassment in schools

An Indiana mother whose daughter took her own life when she was just 14 years old is fighting to push through a new piece of legislation that would make schools play a bigger role when it comes to bullying. Angel Green was in eighth grade when her mother found her hanged from a tree, leaving behind a suicide note after enduring years of bullying that started with her weight, hair and appearance and took a far darker turn at the end, with students mocking the girl for the years of sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. She wrote at the end of her note; ‘It’s bullying that killed me. On Friday, May 17th, 2010-Amanda Rodgers was sworn in as an advocate for abused and neglected children involved with the juvenile court system. As a CASA volunteer, Rodgers completed 35 hours of training, but her credentials for compassion come from life experience.

“I was step-daddy’s little sex toy, and a prisoner in the one place that I should have been the most safe and  protected,” explains Rodgers. “I didn’t have anyone there for me, but I have vowed to be there for others. Mother Accused Of Stabbing 3 Kids

OLYMPIA, Washington — Prosecutors say a Washington state woman accused of stabbing her three small children told detectives that she cut the children’s throats with a kitchen knife to keep them quiet for her soldier husband. In court papers filed Monday, a prosecutor says 29-year-old Christina E. Booth of Olympia said in the police interview that her husband never helped her with the children and got “very annoyed” when they cried. ALOHA, OR – Less than two years after a man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a girl, his father is now facing charges of sexually abusing the same victim. Detectives arrested 49-year-old Ronald Kopf Jr. of Aloha on Jan. 20. Logan, Utah – 40-year-old former police officer Cody C. Smith pleaded no contest this week to two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. According to court documents, Smith first began forcing a 13-year-old girl to have sex with multiple boys back in 2011 or 2012. When the children refused, Smith allegedly gave them instructions and would physically force them to engage in sexual acts. This was apparently repeated on at least six different occasions in the year of 2012, and reportedly occurred with the same girl and multiple different boys.
