Reward Offered in Amber Alert Abduction of 2-Year-Old Edwin Vargas

A $50,000 reward was expected to be announced Tuesday in the case of 2-year-old Edwin Vargas who was allegedly kidnapped by his father on May 23, according to the LAPD. The toddler was last seen sitting in his mother’s van on a street in Boyle Heights while she ran up to her sister’s house to pick up another child, Officer Norma Eisenman with Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations said. Critics are outraged after a chronic DWI offender hit and killed a 4-year-old boy and walked away with a 5-year prison sentence. The Missouri highway patrol said Ricky R. Weeden Sr. killed 4-year-old Traye-Shon and injured his brother Jay’shard after hitting them with his pick-up truck in St. Louis, Missouri in 2012. Weeden apparently sped off after the accident but cops were able to track him down when they found his truck days later. A two-year-old child is dead, after being kicked so hard her liver split in two. Her mom’s boyfriend was found guilty of the crime, which he apparently committed because the little girl soiled her diaper. Dean Harris, 19, reportedly kicked her six feet across the room because he couldn’t handle a blown-out diaper. A Georgia father is charged with murder in the death of his 22-month-old son after he allegedly left the child in a hot car for almost eight hours. Justin Ross Harris, 33, of Marietta, was arrested and charged Wednesday with felony murder and cruelty to a child. Cobb County police say 22-month-old Cooper Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Florida man planned to kill parents, record rape of child

A 29-year-old Florida man has been arrested for premeditated attempted homicide, attempted sexual assault of a child and 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Florida state investigators arrested Shawn Ryan Thomas June 12 after a tip from a confidential informant. Thomas reportedly was planning to lure two parents and a juvenile female to a vacant house under the charade of producing a TV show. Investigators say Thomas planned to kill the parents with a knife, and rape and murder the female child. Thomas also planned to film the rape and produce a DVD to sell. READ MORE HERE

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – A Youngstown man is on his way to prison for raping a young girl he was supposed to have been babysitting. Zachary Walker, 22, pleaded guilty Monday morning to a half dozen sex charges in front of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge John Durkin. He is accused of repeatedly assaulting a young relative who was just 5 or 6 at the time. The assault happened four years ago when Walker was 18. After learning the victim would have testified against him if the case had gone to trial, Walker agreed to take responsibility. Teacher alerted authorities after overhearing a conversation detailing incest

It was more than enough for one of the teachers at the southern NSW high school to alert authorities, which led to the exposure of a feral family and the worst case of incest and sexual abuse ever uncovered in Australia. What triggered the raids on the isolated farm by police and the Department of Family and Community Services has been revealed in court documents as Parramatta Local Court has ­ordered two of the family members to have DNA tests. A Sioux Falls woman is charged with multiple counts of child rape, after her boyfriend found her with several young boys at their apartment. According to police, 30-year-old Anne Elizabeth Doubler was naked when her boyfriend came home, and he soon learned what was going on. Police are still left with many questions in this disturbing case. It’s still unclear how many children were actually victims. “When we’re talking multiple victims, especially at one time, that’s something we don’t see very often,” said Officer Sam Clemens, Sioux Falls Police Dept. Man locks girlfriend out of hotel room, rapes her 8-month-old daughter

Valencia County sheriff’s deputies said a man raped his girlfriend’s 8-month-old daughter. The girl is still in the hospital. Deputies said Julio Iturralde and his girlfriend were staying at a hotel in Los Lunas when the mother ran outside to get items from the car. According to the criminal complaint, she could hear the baby screaming, but Iturralde wouldn’t open the door. READ MORE HERE

Charges relate to five children and include counts of cruelty and rape

A woman appeared in court yesterday in connection with 24 alleged abuse offences against children, including rape and  sexual assault. Marie Black, 33, from Norwich, was charged with the offences on Friday and remanded in custody. Norfolk Police confirmed that Black appeared at Norwich  Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning.  The charges relate to five children under 13 and allegedly took place between 2004 and 2010.
