COLLEGE HILL, OH — A College Hill man faces charges after federal agents say they found 70,000 images and videos of suspected kiddie porn on his computer. Agents say the man, identified as 60-year-old Michael Eugene Hendrix, has a previous conviction and served time in the 1980s for child rape.  Despite his past Hendrix worked for a dozen years as a college professor in a different state.  READ MORE HERE

BOSTON — A Randolph man convicted of child rape for a second time more than 20 years after his first conviction has been sentenced to life in prison. William “Frank” Andrade, 57, was convicted this week by a Suffolk Superior Court jury of three counts of rape of a child and five counts of indecent assault and battery on a child. A retired police sergeant who was extradited from Australia and convicted of child sex abuse committed in the UK has been jailed for 18 years. Jeffrey Lake, 78, was arrested at his home in Queensland, Australia, and sent to Britain before he could stand trial for historical offences. Most of the abuse was committed when he was a serving police officer in Accrington, Lancashire, and Liverpool in the 1960s and early 1970s. A Saudi Arabian air force sergeant faces a minimum mandatory 35 years in state prison after a jury found him guilty of raping a 13-year-old boy at a Las Vegas Strip hotel last New Year’s Eve. Defendant Mazen Alotaibi (MAH’-zen ah-loh-TAH’-bee) remained seated, clenching his jaw but showing no outward emotion as the verdict was read in Nevada state court Wednesday. Sentencing for the 24-year-old Royal Saudi Air Force mechanic, who had been in the U.S. for military training, is set for Dec. 16. Clark County District Court Judge Stefany Miley could sentence him to prison for life. COLUMBUS, OH – An investigation is underway after teachers at a Westerville school reported allegations of child abuse at a mosque. Westerville police said the accusations came from children, who are 8, 9, and 10 years old. A normal day of school at Mark Twain Elementary in Westerville took quite the turn, when several students in a class of mostly Somalis learning English, entered a discussion. A Berthoud police officer is accused by his teenage daughter of force-feeding her hot sauce, beating her with ropes, and tying her hands with plastic zip ties and handcuffs. Loveland police say they arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Yachik Wednesday morning at his home without incident. Too many families experience the nightmare of having a child go missing. I know what it is like to be that child. I know what it is like to think that one false move may lead to not only your own death but the death of family members as well. Nobody can ever blame a child for their actions when they are being threatened, bullied, forced, or coerced into doing something unthinkable. How can we afford to not support those who stand as guardians and rescuers, who do everything they can to prevent crimes and protect our children? The mother of ‘blonde angel’ Maria rescued from a Greek gypsy camp is a Bulgarian farm hand who was too poor to keep her, police believe. Sasha Ruseva, 35, already had two children and was picking olives in the coastal town of Livanates, Greece, when she fell pregnant in 2008, it was claimed today. Unable to cope, Sasha sold the unwanted tot to the highest bidders – a group of child traffickers. A mysterious Bulgarian middleman known as ‘Michalis’ and his prostitute partner then offered baby Maria around central Greece before her adoptive gypsy parents paid 1,000 Euro to keep her. Facebook scrambling after removing beheading video, reinstating bans

David Cameron today challenged Facebook to prove that its system protected children after the site was forced to reinstate a ban on beheading videos. The Prime Minister led criticism against the social networking site after it lifted a ban on users posting graphic videos of violent killings. The firm yesterday bowed to pressure from child internet protection campaigners by taking down a graphic video of a woman being beheaded in Mexico. Facebook’s unpublicised change in policy came to light after it refused to remove a 57-second video showing a young Mexican woman, her hands tied behind her back and on her knees, being beheaded by a masked man in broad daylight. A Colorado judge has today ordered the release of grand jury documents related to the 1996 killing of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey. Boulder District Attorney spokeswoman Catherine Olguin declined to say whether the documents, which have been sealed since the grand jury was dismissed in 1999, will include an indictment against parents John and Patsy Ramsey. The Daily Camera previously reported that the grand jury voted in 1999 to indict the Ramseys but then DA Alex Hunter declined to pursue those charges. JonBenet’s body was found bludgeoned and strangled in her family’s home in Boulder on December 26, 1996.  READ MORE HERE

Philadelphia prosecutors today announced they have no choice but to drop child-rape charges against a priest because the only witness able to testify died two weeks ago of an overdose after battling substance abuse for years. Sean McIlamil, 26, a former alter boy under Fr. Robert Brennan, came forward in January with startling allegations that the priest sexually abused him 15 years ago – but today his family spoke only of their grief and anger that Brennan will now walk free. At a press conference today in the city his mother Debbie explained that her son spoke up because he wanted to be a voice against child abuse for his nephews sake’s and other young children like them. Paternity tests shows that Acevedo even fathered child with member of his own family

Four women have now come forward to say that a neighbor of notorious kidnapper and rapist Arial Castro raped them, with three of the alleged victims being family members. Elias Acevedo has confessed to the kidnapping, rape and murder of two women in a Cleveland neighborhood in the 1990s, at a time when he lived close to Castro, as well as additional rape and kidnapping charges. A fourth woman has now come forward to report that she too was raped by Acevado, and paternity testing has shown that he fathered a child with one of his own family. Three babysitters watched as a three-year-old boy died in a cruel punishment called ‘The Wrap’ – where he suffocated after being tightly covered in blanket. Michael Lee McMullen died after being wrapped in six layers of blankets at the Florida home he was living in. Manslaughter charges were filed against Donella Trainor, 45; Douglas Garrigus, 21; and the child’s grandmother, Gale Watkins, 56, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s lieutenant.
