BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A 6-week-old girl is in stable condition after she was stabbed numerous times. The child’s mother, 24-year-old Danielle Mailloux, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Kern County deputies were called Sunday night to the 1300 block of Crawford Street.

HOUSTON– Two people are facing charges in a bizarre child abuse case that they claim involved a ‘spirit’ in the home. Ivan Dejesus Martinez, 21, is charged with injury to a child and Erica Candice Mendoza, 21, is charged with injury to a child by omission. The victim in the case is Mendoza’s two-year-old son.

A new bill proposed in California could force Facebook and other social networking sites to strip out personal information for children at a parent’s request. The bill known as the Social Networking Privacy Act would require Facebook and others to carefully police which pieces of information on individuals under age 18 are accessible to the public.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine– Maine State Police said they’ve received about 60 tips following the release of a computer-generated photo of a boy whose body was found over the weekend. A police spokesman told reporters at a news conference Monday that tips are coming in from Maine, New Hampshire and as far away as Ohio.

TELFORD, Pa. – Skyler Kauffman, the 9-year-old girl who was brutally assaulted and killed before being stuffed into a trash bin near her suburban Philadelphia apartment, is being laid to rest today. Funeral services for Kauffman were scheduled for Monday morning in Telford. A memorial ceremony was held for the girl Sunday night. Hundreds lined up outside a Telford funeral home to say their goodbyes.

A 63-year-old Oak Harbor man admitted to raping two young children, but blamed his actions on the 4-year-old victim, according to a police report.
