Alamo, N.M. – Felix Martinez, a 36-year-old New Mexico man was charged last week with repeatedly molesting his 12-year-old daughter beginning when she was just 5 years old. According to the Otero County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was launched on July 20 after it was reported that a juvenile girl from the Tularosa area had run away from home. Investigators found the 12-year-old girl in the Dog Canyon the next day and learned that she was a possible victim of sexual abuse.

Four Adults Forced Children To Stay In Plastic Containers

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO — Four people are accused of forcing children into plastic containers and leaving them in there with only a hole cut out of the top for air. James Allen Taylor, Samantha Marie Taylor, Glenn Allen Adams and Daniel Adam McKenney are facing charges of endangering children and unlawful restraint. A grand jury indicted the four suspects this week in connection with the alleged crimes at a house on Oregon Avenue in Steubenville.

A Gurnee couple’s bail was set at $50,000 each today after they were accused of sending text messages to a 13-year-old girl to arrange to have sex with her, officials said. Gina M. Cusimano, 25, and Kevin C. Pettitt, 21, both of the 5100 block of Pembrook Court in Gurnee, were charged with indecent solicitation of a child, police said.

SANTA ANA, CA — Police in Santa Ana have released surveillance video of a car driven by a man wanted in the abduction and sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl. The girl was playing with a 4-year-old boy outside an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Townsend when the unidentified man approached her. Police say the man parked in a alley near the apartment building and was watching the children.

School Janitor Accused of Placing Hidden Camera In Bathrooms

SANTA ANA, CA — Police arrested a janitor at a Santa Ana school last week, accusing him of placing a camera in a restroom stall to record video of women — and possibly girls — as they used the toilet. Police say 24-year-old Angel Rojas, of Corona, hid the camera in the stall of a ladies room at Glenn L. Martin Elementary School, where he had been hired as a janitor just a month before. During a summer program that 175 students enrolled in, a staff member found the camera July 16 as she was using the restroom.

Kiara Mayne Estright, 19, was convicted after her baby was found with nine broken bones. The injuries included two leg fractures, a broken collarbone, a bleeding skull fracture, a broken arm and hand, and three broken ribs. NY Daily News noted that the child’s injuries occurred between the ages of 15 and 22 months, while he was living with his mother.

There is a genuine medical term for what poisons psychopathic sex offenders. It is a clinical disease, an abnormality known as paraphilia. More broadly called sexual deviation, paraphilia is a group of disorders characterized by “fantasies, feelings or activities involving a nonhuman object, a non-consenting partner such as a child, or pain or humiliation of oneself or one’s partner,” according to dictionary.com. Other wider definitions of paraphilia include “abnormal sexual activity” and “sexual practices that are socially prohibited.”

The pastor of a fundamentalist mega church in Northwest Indiana has been dismissed because of a “sin” that’s being investigated by Lake County (Ind.) sheriff’s police. Jack Schaap, 54, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hammond since 2001, was fired by a deacon board, said Eddie Wilson, director of public relations for the church. Wilson said Tuesday church officials didn’t believe anything criminal occurred, but information was turned over to the sheriff’s department “for the sake of transparency and honesty.”

On average, survivors of domestic violence contact 11 agencies before obtaining the help they need. On average, a woman is assaulted at least 35 times before she reports an assault to the police. Domestic violence is equally prevalent among all income groups and among people from all ethnic groups. Women who have experienced domestic violence are 15 times more likely to abuse alcohol, 9 times more likely to abuse drugs, 3 times more likely to be diagnosed as depressed or psychotic and 5 times more likely to attempt suicide.

BRADENTON, FL — The reward for information about who killed a Bradenton teenager earlier this month has been increased to $6,000, Bradenton police said Tuesday. The Gold Star Club of Manatee County has committed to adding up to $5,000 to the reward fund. Already, Crime Stoppers of Manatee County was offering up to $1,000 for information about who killed Fredrick L. Edwards, on July 14.
