Denver, CO – Theresa Carothers, 36, and Kevin Carothers, 35, have been jailed after they allegedly raped Theresa Carothers’ underage daughter repeatedly over a period of two years. According to police, Theresa Carothers was arrested Wednesday in Lakewood after sexually assaulted her own daughter along with her husband. Keven Carothers, the victim’s step-father, was taken into custody last week.

MADISON – A judge set bail Wednesday for a father accused of killing his three sons in a house fire last week at $1.4 million. Armin Wand III, 32, of Argyle, faces three counts of first-degree intentional homicide, three counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and one count of arson in connection with the fire. Lafayette County Circuit Judge William D. Johnston set his bail at $200,000 per count. Investigators have accused Armin Wand III’s brother, Jeremy Wand, 18, also of Argyle, of helping set the fire. He faces three counts of first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and one count of arson. The judge set his bail at $200,000 per charge as well for a total cash bond of $1.2 million.

MUNCIE, Ind. – Muncie Police say a 16-year-old boy committed suicide using his mom’s prescription medication. That mom is now behind bars. Sabrina Howard, 40, of Muncie is charged with neglect of a dependent and causing suicide, both Class B felonies. Police say she knew her son had taken her pills, yet she did nothing about it until it was too late. “I think she believes she is not responsible for his death. I think putting all the pieces of the puzzle together we came to the conclusion she was, and that’s why she was arrested,” said Muncie Police detective, Sgt. Linda Cook.

After being raped repeatedly by her father, a 13-year-old girl was set on fire. After her mother left her family, a 13-year-old girl from Central India was raped over a two week time span by her own father, who then set her ablaze and left her to die on the outskirts of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The girl was found by neighbors, who took her to the closest hospital where they say she will be okay. Sixty percent of her body is covered in burns.

TIGARD, OR — Police said a 4-year-old boy was beaten to death at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend. Police said the family of six was homeless and taking temporary refuge at the Good Neighbor Center in Tigard, when employees there noticed the boy’s injuries and called for help. “This is horrifying, we are in the business for caring for people, giving a hand up, nothing like this, of course, ever happens,” said Good Neighbor Center Director Jack Schwab.

Lake Wales, FL – Maisa Alvarez, a 42-year-old Florida woman was jailed Tuesday after she allegedly tied her 7-year-old son’s hands together and then stabbed him repeatedly in the chest and arms. According to Lake Wales police, officers were dispatched to the family’s home after Alvarez called 911 and told dispatchers that her son had been stabbed.

A South Carolina man can’t understand why the registered sex offender who victimized his 10-year-old daughter gets to live next door, separated only by a chain link fence. Chris Smith, of Conway, told the Sun News of Myrtle Beach that having Kerry Dane Marlowe for a neighbor is hell on his family. He said he would gladly move, but doubts he can sell a house next to a sex offender. “When it’s all stripped away,” Smith told the paper. “I still have a convicted, registered sex offender living next door.”

EL SEGUNDO, CA — A soccer coach from the South Bay was arrested for alleged lewd acts with a 15-year-old girl, and police say there could be more victims. David Tinoco, 50, was arrested at Recreation Park on Main Street in El Segundo, just about a block away from the El Segundo Police Station. He has since been released on bond. Police say that the victim reported the alleged assault to El Segundo police. Detectives then worked with the girl, who arranged to meet Tinaco at the park.
