HELENWOOD (WATE) – A Helenwood man accused of raping a child was caught in Chattanooga a few hours after he was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top Ten Most Wanted list Wednesday.

Ricky Vaughn Lewallen, 30, was wanted by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office for rape of a child under 13.

PORTLAND, Ore. — An Oregon woman convicted of dumping her children off a bridge, killing one, has been sentenced to at least 35 years in prison.

At a hearing Thursday in Portland, 32-year-old Amanda Stott-Smith told the judge she’s sorry. The hearing confirmed a plea bargain announced last week.

In North Carolina, a court ruled last month that its registry is unconstitutional because alleged abusers had no chance to defend themselves before being listed.
