SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Authorities in Spartanburg County said they arrested an Upstate mother on charges of child abuse and neglect.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said 29-year-old Patricia Diane Emory, of Converse, was arrested Monday after an investigation by the Juvenile Crimes Unit determined that Emory’s 7-month-old daughter had suffered two fractures in her right leg.

More than two million images of child sex abuse had been circulated by 100 offenders who went on to be convicted in the last 20 months, the NSPCC says.

In a sample created by analysing media reports of court cases, the charity found that nearly 50,000 of the photographs were in the worst category.

Sexual abuse is a problem that affects 20 to 25 percent of American women before they reach the age of 18. It is a problem that from 2005 to 2006 afflicted 135,300 American children. It is a problem that the World Health Organization estimates has harmed approximately 25 percent of girls and eight percent of boys worldwide. Child sexual abuse is a human problem.

Police say the baby’s father, Shamsid-Din Abdur-Raheem, confessed to throwing the infant off a bridge.

Neosho, Missouri (The Weekly Vice) – Matthew Boyer, a 35 -year-old Missouri man, was arrested Thursday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an underage girl and possessing nude pictures of another minor on his home computer.

According to Newton County Sheriff’s Department, the victim informed investigators and school officials she had intercourse with Boyer on two occasions in September of 2009 at his home when she was 16 years of age.

Atoka, OK – After conversations on the internet turned sexual, a Harmony School teacher was arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old female student. Samuel “Sam” Bellows, 24, has been teaching history and computer for the past three (3) years.

A 22 year old Zanesville man is facing 47 sex related charges involving children.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that Irvine Carnes IV appeared in Judge Cottrill’s courtroom and pled not guilty to 47 counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition.

EDWARDSVILLE — Calling Keith Recklein “a danger to society,” a judge sentenced him Monday to 50 years in prison for luring a stranger to a park, then raping and beating her and leaving her for dead.

Associate Judge Kyle Napp ordered two consecutive 25-year terms for Recklein, 31, of Granite City, for aggravated criminal sexual assault, and a concurrent five-year term for aggravated battery.

It was too late for Oleander Labier, a 5-year-old girl from Gresham, a city right outside of Portland. Police were called to the home of Guadalupe Quintero and Christopher A. Rosillo on Tuesday. They found Oleander unconscious and not breathing. EMTs took her to Portland Adventist Medical Center, but the girl did not make it. She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Jeffrey Drew “fantasizes about rape,” sheriff’s officials say. The 18-year-old Drew, a resident of 7314 Thomas Jefferson Circle in Bartow, was one of 29-people arrested Thursday in a county-wide child pornography raid by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Drew regularly downloaded videos portraying women being raped, sheriff’s reports indicate. He’s now charged with possession of child pornography.

TRENTON — A pair of apparent lesbians and the boyfriend of the victim’s mother have been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on Dec. 9, authorities disclosed for the first time earlier today.

Marion Davis, 19, of South Broad Street, was charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after the unusual gang rape, Assistant Prosecutor Mary Sparkman said at her bail hearing this morning.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Troutman man for allegedly committing sex crimes with a child over a five-year period.

Mark Wesley Moore, 30, was charged on Thursday with six counts of first-degree rape of a child, two counts of first-degree sexual offense with a child, and 15 counts of indecent liberties with a child.
