SANTA ANA — Jurors convicted a 55-year old construction worker of the special circumstances murder of his adult daughter, who was tied up, shot and stuffed into a freezer.

A seven-woman, five-man jury deliberated for about two and a half hours before finding that Clarence Eugene Butterfield committed the first-degree murder of Rebekah Butterfield, 21, during the commission of torture and mayhem.

EASTON, Md.- A jury found a former Trappe, Md., day care provider guilty of second-degree murder, child abuse with a death, and second-degree assault in the death of a 9-month-old infant Friday afternoon, the Talbot County State’s Attorney’s office announced.

Gail Dobson, 53, was charged last October after investigators concluded that 9-month-old Trevor Ulrich died of injuries caused while under her care.

“Most severe” case of child abuse cop has ever seen

A 22-year-old man from Savage was charged with assault this week in what a police officer called the “most severe case” of child abuse he has ever seen.

Thomas Edward Ampe is accused of maliciously abusing his 4-week-old daughter, who has Down syndrome, to the point that she suffered 56 fractured bones and had three areas of bleeding and bruising to her brain.

A man is under arrest after a 7-month-old baby was taken to the hospital in a possible child abuse case.

Police were called to Memorial Hospital Thursday, where doctors are treating a severely emaciated 7-month-old baby boy. Police arrested 22-year-old Trevor Williams. He’s facing a felony child abuse charge.

In an arrest affidavit, it says Williams says he was feeding the baby formula and cereal. But when police searched his home, they found no signs of either, and when they checked receipts of recent grocery store transactions, it appeared Williams wasn’t buying any, either.

Black River Falls (WQOW) – A daycare provider has been charged with child abuse. Investigators believe a baby’s injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

Couple charged with abusing 6-yr old adopted son

A Tavares couple is out of jail on bond after police said the two abused the 6-year-old son they adopted about a year ago. Mikelann Renwick, 47, and Steven Renwick, 55, face charges of child neglect and aggravated child abuse.

Mikelann Renwick took the boy to Florida Hospital Waterman on Wednesday because he was vomiting. Hospital staffers observed that the boy had several injuries to his head, legs and torso, according to an arrest affidavit filed in the case.

Couple charged with abuse for obese children

MARIETTA, Georgia — Police in Georgia have arrested a couple after finding their two children were obese and living in filthy conditions. James and Anne Cardona are facing felony animal child cruelty charges.

The couple’s five-year-old daughter weighed 158 pounds, was covered in bug bites and had matted hair and rotten teeth. She could barely walk. Their four-year-old girl weighed nearly 90 pounds, was wearing a soiled diaper and drinking from a bottle.

DENVER — A Denver jury found a man guilty of whipping a 15-year-old boy and forcing him to drink soapy bleach water as punishment.

John Allen, 36, was convicted Thursday of felony child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and misdemeanor child abuse, Denver district attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the body of a 9-year-old girl and the grave robbers who stole her remains.

The body of Paula Ream, who died in August 1962 from cerebral palsy, was buried in the Babyland section of the Riverview Cemetery in Lancaster, Pa.

7-yr old girl raped & then suffocated by mom’s boyfriend

LUDINGTON— Fueled by alcohol and drugs in the early morning of April 28, James Vernon Belanger raped his former girlfriend’s 7-year-old daughter, then suffocated her with a pillow before fatally stabbing himself in the chest, Mason County authorities said Wednesday.

Those were just some of the grisly details released Wednesday by Mason County Prosecutor Paul R. Spaniola during a press conference about the death of Lakeview Elementary School first-grader Chloey Ann Stoudt. Police said she died at the hands of Belanger, 39, inside the home of her mother, 30-year-old Kelly Jo Stoudt, at 1082 Pineway.

Two teens gang-rape 12-yr old girl at roller rink

WOODLAWN, MD. — Two teenagers have now been charged as adults in the alleged gang rape of a 12-year-old girl at a roller rink in Baltimore County.

Prosecutors say 17-year-old Kadeem Santiful and 15-year-old Tracey Hawkins, both of Baltimore, face charges including first-degree rape in the attack Saturday at Skateworks in Woodlawn.
