FORMER MIGRANTS WHO were brought as children from England to New South Wales in Australia have claimed they suffered abuse in the school they were sent to. The alleged sexual abuse took place in the Fairbridge Farm School in Molong and the class action covers all residents between 1939 and 1974, ABC news reports.

Covert police operatives spent four months infiltrating the network, secretly taking the place of those they arrested to allow them to delve deeper into the group of men aged between 26 and 67 who were sharing images and videos of the sexual abuse of children as young as four.

Denver parents Calvin Pitts, 28, and Amanda Deleon, 21, have been arrested and charged with child abuse after their 3-month-old boy, Sanai Pitts, was found not breathing in their apartment Saturday morning. The Denver Post reports that authorities responded to a call to the apartment where Pitts and Deleon were living and found the child was not breathing. the infant was rushed to Swedish Medical Center and pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Tacoma, WA- Melissa Cathryn McMillen, a 20-year-old Washington woman pleaded not guilty Friday after she was arrested for allegedly delivering a live child into a toilet and leaving it to die while she took a shower. According to police, McMillen delivered a live baby into a toilet inside her family’s home last Saturday before opting to take a shower – leaving the child to drown to death over a 90-minute period.

An 11-year-old Ohio girl was allegedly shot by her neighbor after he became upset with a group of children playing on the front yard of his home, Fox 8 reports. Charles DuBose, 55, was arrested after police said he shot the girl, Ivhan`e Merritt, at 10:40 p.m. Friday outside his home in Cleveland. Shamarra Hall, 10, told the station that she and Merritt were among a group of children playing on the man’s front lawn when the incident occurred.

SANTA ANA– A 13-year-old boy has been taken into custody after allegedly sexually violating his cousin, an 8-year-old girl. On Friday evening the mother of the girl invited a relative and their 13-year-old son, the girl’s cousin, to spend the weekend at their home to accompany them to an amusement park on Sunday.

ANAHEIM, CA — A suspect has been arrested in the deadly stabbing death of a 12-year-old boy in Anaheim. 18-year-old Bryan Ocampo faces one count of homicide and is being held without bail. The stabbing happened at 2:40 p.m. in front of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of E. La Palma Avenue, across from Sycamore Junior High School, according to police.

Wheaton, Ill. – A west suburban Downers Grove man pleaded guilty Friday to the stabbing death of his wife and unborn child last year. Eric Gilford, 36, formerly of Downers Grove, entered the Villa Park residence of an acquaintance May 26, 2010, stabbed his pregnant wife, Kristine Gilford, and fled the scene. Kristine’s young daughter, who was celebrating her fourth birthday that day, witnessed the murder.

The leader of an alleged cult appeared in court today to answer charges in the deaths of a woman and child found buried in the backyard of a house in Durham, N.C. Six other people who police say are members of the alleged cult were also charged with murder. He was charged with the murders of Antoinetta McKoy, 28, and 5-year-old Jadon Higganbothan. McKoy was reported missing in February and was last seen in December 2010.

US – A 12-year-old boy accused of murdering his little brother could be sentenced to life. Cristian Fernandez from Florida is charged with first-degree murder and will be facing trial as an adult. According to reports, Cristian repeatedly struck his 2-year-old brother David’s head while his mother was out. David was later found unconscious bleeding badly. When the mother, Biannela, returned home, she tried giving first-aid and only brought David to hospital after two hours. David was suffering from a fractured skull, a bleeding brain as well as bruising to his face, according to reports.

Just after 1am on July 7 last year, Ashleigh Robinson, a bright 19 year old from Colwyn Bay, North Wales, pressed ‘send’ on her mobile phone. The message was for her mother, Joanne Barr, and simply read: “Things happened, he is no more. Sorry mum xxx”. It soon became horribly clear just what Ashleigh was referring to. She and her sister, Holly, who was just 16, had plotted to have their loving dad, Antoni, 61, killed. The text was sent moments after the deed had been done.

Small, naïve, and trusting they’re vulnerable to the very worst of predators. Bears and wolves, sharks and gators prey on children with far less frequency than human beings themselves. It’s a pathology that’s as pervasive as it is puzzling. Regardless of race, region, or economic strata, pedophilia thrives in our society. It’s as present today as it has been at any time. Though horribly socially self-destructive, it continues on and on, as if it were a normal and acceptable function of culture–or, at least, an unavoidable evil, the dark side of our sunny selves.

BREMERTON — A Bremerton man was charged Monday in Kitsap County District Court with second-degree rape of a child. Allen Wallace, 19, was arrested Friday by Bremerton Police after a 13-year-old autistic boy told family members the two had sexual contact in a bathroom at Evergreen-Rotary Park.
