A trio of sick sex offenders who were jailed for their parts in an international pedophile ring today received huge increases in their sentences at the Court of Appeal. Senior judges led by Lady Justice Rafferty said the offenses were so outrageous that the sentences received by the two men and a woman were ‘unduly lenient’. Robert Hathaway, 37, originally got an open-ended public protection sentence with a minimum term of six years, but is now jailed for life, with a minimum of ten years.

Two Romanian gypsies face jail after smuggling a child dubbed ‘Cinderella’ into the UK and forcing her to work as a servant. The seven-year-old girl was sent to Britain by her penniless mother in the hope of a better life. But in the UK she was beaten, humiliated, and forced to sleep on the floor while carrying out domestic duties. Aurel Zlate, 46, and his wife Alexandra Oaie, 43, beat her ‘like a carpet’ and the abuse was so bad that when she was rescued by police she was dressed in filthy clothes, had scabs all over her head and her teeth were so rotten they had to be removed.

OZONE PARK, QUEENS –Seven men and a woman kidnapped, drugged and raped a 15 year-old girl, then kept her as both a sex slave and a prostitute. That’s what prosecutors in Queens said Thursday, as a half-dozen members of a crime ring were arraigned before a judge, and as police remained on a manhunt for at least two other people in relation to the alleged crimes.

SHENZHEN, CHINA –A father, believed to be suffering from a mental disorder, attacked his 6-year-old son in public Wednesday and bit off the boy’s penis, the Shanghai Daily reported. According to witnesses, the 32-year-old father went for a walk in Shenzhen, in the Guangdong Province, with his son and 4-year-old daughter — all of them naked. The father reportedly asked the boy to bite his own penis, and, when his son refused, he turned on him, biting off his son’s penis.

A police officer has been suspended after the suspected murder weapon, a .22-caliber rifle, used in the killing of Monae Turnage was found in his car. Police investigators believe the off-duty Baltimore police officer, whose name was not released, was in a relationship with a relative of one of the juvenile suspects charged with involuntary manslaughter, sources said.

Hartford – Low-risk and rehabilitated suspects of child abuse and neglect might soon have the opportunity to have their names removed from the state’s database under legislation being considered by the General Assembly. The proposed bill would allow offenders on the state’s child abuse and neglect database to appeal their listing after five years if they aren’t involved in any new abuse reports or investigations.

Kony is the leader of Ugandan military group the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and is wanted for committing crimes against humanity including rape, abduction and murder. For 26 years his rebel group has systematically kidnapped more than 30,000 African children — forcing girls to become sex slaves, brainwashing boys into becoming child soldiers and brutally killing those who don’t comply. Now American activist group Invisible Children has created the half hour video, Kony 2012, in a bid to bring the dictator to justice.

A COUPLE have been jailed for sickening child abuse charges dating back over 40 years. Linda Jeffrey knew her husband Andrew was responsible for a series of sex attacks on children in the 1970s and 80s but did nothing to stop him and made no attempt to report what she knew. Newcastle Crown Court heard she was even present when her husband carried out one of the offences on a young girl. The married pair, both now 62, of Cuillin Close, Lambton, Washington, had denied any wrongdoing but were found guilty of a series of charges by a jury after a trial.

As more and more cases of sexual child abuse come to surface through the media, one well known figure is stepping up to reveal that he, too, was sexually abused as a child. Sugar Ray Leonard, an Olympic gold medalist in boxing, has written a book and spoke for the first time publicly about his abuse Wednesday in Omaha. Leonard said he was abused for nearly 30 years, beginning when he was 14-years-old.

LAUREL — A 30-year-old woman has been charged in connection with child abuse. Lt. Jerome Jackson with the Laurel Police Department said Serita K. Jones, 30, of Laurel, has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on Feb. 25th. Jackson said the Laurel Police Department began investigating the case on Monday, Feb. 27th, when it received a report from a neighbor.

Parents of Aaron Hatcher, a former special needs student at Roswell High School in Atlanta, Ga., have filed a $10.5 million lawsuit against the district and 15 Fulton County public school employees, claiming their son died after a teacher physically abused him, WGCL-TV reports.

A 51-year-old convicted of sexually assaulting three of his own children and a grandchild will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. According to the Denver District Attorney’s Office David Tarver sexually assaulted at least three of his children, dating back to the 1980’s. Last January a jury found Tarver guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, pattern of abuse, and aggravated incest.

When Satara Stratton moved to Los Angeles from Chattanooga, Tenn., last June she was looking for fame. Now police are looking for her because she has been reportedly missing since October 25. Stratton — who used the stage name “Satara Silver” — came to Los Angeles to pursue acting, but other than a few small roles in indie films and a job at a Disney Store on Santa Monica Boulevard, her showbiz had yet to take flight.
