SPARTANBURG CO, S.C. -An Upstate mother and her boyfriend are facing charges after an investigation by Spartanburg County deputies. Deputies said they were called to a Lil’ Cricket Food Store on March 6 about a possible child abuse case. When deputies arrived, a neighbor of a 15-year-old told them the teen had shown her marks and bruises she said her mother, Tina Marie Taylor-Thomas, and her mother’s boyfriend, Donnie Ray Bragg Jr., had given her.

In 2007, the state Department of Social Services revoked the foster care license of a Vallejo woman whom the agency accused of locking children in her garage “for hours without food or water” and taunting one foster boy with the words “faggot” and “queer.” The state forbade Blancho Brumfield from ever working in a facility licensed by the department – except when it came to her job as a child abuse investigator for Sacramento County.

Shaqueta McDade was charged with 4 counts of negligent homicide on Sunday after four of her children burned to death in her Rayne, Louisiana trailer home. The children who perished in the fire were Jamari McDade, 8; Amous Mouton Jr., 7; LaShay McDade, 5, and Brian Steiner, 2. Neighbors tried to save the children but the heat was too intense, according to investigators.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Missouri teenager accused of pouring gasoline on a 13-year-old, setting him on fire and laughing as he burned, has been charged with first-degree assault. Joseph D. Gardner, 17, of St. Joseph, had bullied the child in the past and threatened to kill him and his family if he told anyone, according to a probable cause statement from the Andrew County Sheriff’s department. On April 15, Gardner threatened to hit the boy in the face if he did not let him set him on fire, the statement said.

Joseph Neal, Jr, 43, a prominent Georgia lawyer, and his ex-wife, Caroline Neal, 23, were arrested for getting their 18-year-old babysitter drunk and high on marijuana and then attempting to have sex with her. According to The Augusta Chronicle, the victim told police that Joseph Neal gave her 4-5 alcoholic beverages before attempting to have his way with her.

Attorney Teddy Gordon explains, “We want to make sure the school does what it’s supposed to do, which is keep all of our children, especially this young little lady, safe in a school setting. Free of bullying and intimidation and threats and if they won’t do it we hope the court system will.”

A teacher at a Connecticut day care center was arrested and charged after being accused of molesting two children while they slept. According to authorities in Norwalk, 44-year-old Harold Meyers of Bridgeport has been charged with two counts of third degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Doctors are warning parents about a dangerous new trend after six teenagers drank hand sanitizer and ended up in Southern California emergency rooms with alcohol poisoning. LOS ANGELES , CA — The LAPD is asking for the public’s help finding the so-called “teardrop rapist,” believed to be responsible for 28 sexual assaults in the South L.A. area since 1996. The man has been linked through DNA to a series of attacks in Los Angeles over the last 15-years, the latest occurred in November.
