Women Allowed Child’s Sexual Abuse to Continue; Ignored Plea for Help
GALESBURG —The alleged offender and another individual were charged Thursday after one sexually abused a child and the other did not contact officials when the victim initially reported it. Calvin J. Williams, 27, Iowa Avenue, has been charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The first charge is punishable by up to 60 years in prison and $25,000 in fines. Prosecutors allege that between Sept. 25, 2010, and April 11, 2012, Williams engaged in sexual activities with a child. The victim was 8 years old at the time of the first alleged incident.
