MICHIGAN– A former Fraser school teacher who has already been charged in a drug case is now facing federal child pornography charges. Gregory Austin was originally arrested by the Roseville Police Department on March 19. During the course of that investigation police searched Austin’s cell phone.

DETROIT, MI – The initial test results of rape kits that went untested for decades show that some attackers have escaped prosecution for more years and have reoffended. A rape kit contains evidence collected from a victim to help arrest and prosecute their attacker. When the former Detroit crime lab was shut down in 2008, Michigan State Police found a stock pile of 11,000 untested rape kits. These sex crimes went unsolved for almost 30 years.

Tucson, AZ police are winding down their search for a 6-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday, April 21, 2012. Police Chief Roberto Villasenor said Tuesday that law enforcement expect to wrap up their intensive search for Isabel Mercedes Celis and concentrate on the investigative phase. Villasenor says more than 20 officers will work throughout the night in the neighborhood surrounding the girl’s home. That’s a sharp reduction from the 150 officers from various agencies who first took part in the search.

A man accused of beating his girlfriend’s 2-year-old boy to death because he wouldn’t eat his dinner has turned himself in, police announced Friday. Juan Garcia, 18, led Arizona police on a near three-month manhunt after fleeing his girlfriend’s Phoenix home where the boy, Jorge Zamora-Rogel, was pronounced dead after found thoroughly beaten. Garcia is being held at the Pima County Detention Center after turning himself near Lukeville border in southern Arizona.

RAGLAND, Ala. — A 14-year old boy has been charged with the murder of his 9-year-old half-sister who was found hanging from a tree outside her home. The body of Katelynn Arnold was discovered outside her home in Ragland, a rural town about 40 miles northeast of Birmingham.

FORT WAYNE, Indiana — An Indiana man plead guilty Friday to killing and dismembering a 9-year-old girl three days before Christmas. Michael L. Plumadore, 39, also pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse and removing a dead body from the scene in the Dec. 22 death of Aliahna Maroney-Lemmon at a Fort Wayne trailer park. Police found the girl?s dismembered body in trash bags. Her head, hands and feet were found in the freezer inside Plumadore?s mobile home.

Policeman Kicks Pregnant Woman IN THE STOMACH – Police Department Issues NO CHARGES. A pregnant women ended up being a victim of police brutality during a child custody battle. Jared Wheeler, a young Georgia police officer, is under criminal investigation after he kicked a nine-month pregnant woman so hard in the stomach that she had to have an emergency C-section in order to save her baby.

Authorities are determined to find out the cause of death of two twins. Police in Chicago claim that the 5-month-old twins, Julian and Giselle Romero, were found dead in their crib by their mother, Victoria Rodriguez, who was already being investigated following allegations of child neglect.

A former teacher found herself in quite a predicament after sending nude photographs to a minor. 46-year-old Michelle Kazmierczak is charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles for sending topless pictures to her daughter’s eighth-grade boyfriend. The boy had also made comments comparing Kazmierczak with her daughter.

Convicted sex offender Brent Kellogg was found by a Sheriff’s Deputy looking at lewd pictures of underage girls in a crowded McDonald’s dining room. According to Fox Atlanta, the deputy called 911 and, after police arrived, they approached Kellogg, who began to erase all the images he was looking at on his laptop.

When protective services take children from their parents, state law says a judge must first personally review the case and sign off. But that was not happening in one of Michigan’s busiest courts. It’s called “rubber stamping,” and last August 7 Action News first exposed how court staff were literally stamping a judge’s name onto orders that allowed the state to take kids from their parents.

Johannesburg police are investigating a case of incest after a Soweto man allegedly fathered children with his biological daughter. In a case reminiscent of the sexual offences of Josef Fritzl – the Austrian man who imprisoned his daughter in a dungeon in his house and fathered seven children with her – the Soweto man has allegedly fathered three children with his middle daughter. The daughter lives with him and her children – aged 15, two and five months – in his four-roomed house in Soweto.
