EVANSDALE, Iowa — Hunters found two bodies Wednesday believed to be those of 2 young Iowa girls who vanished five months ago while riding their bikes. The families of 11-year-old Lyric Cook and 9-year-old Elizabeth Collins have been notified of the discovery, said Capt. Rick Abben of the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office. Abben wouldn’t say where the bodies were found.

Cleveland police called the Cleveland FBI for assistance. The FBI handles kidnappings, but no Amber Alert was issued in this case, as some of the initial details were sketchy. While CPD was the primary investigating agency, the bureau also reached out for help. The following day, a team from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children arrived in Cleveland. A few hours after their arrival, an alert Cleveland FBI agent formed a hunch that led to the discovery of little Emilliano. Sadly, the toddler had been dead for days. It would seem the initial story told by his mother to investigators the day before was not entirely truthful after all.

Washington (CNN) — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and European Union Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom will launch a new effort to fight child sexual abuse at a ministers meeting in Brussels, Belgium, on Wednesday. “The initiative aims to unite decision-makers all around the world to better identify and assist victims and to prosecute the perpetrators,” the Justice Department said in a press release. Police are trying to trace a teenage girl who was filmed being sexually assaulted while on holiday in Corfu. A seven-year-old boy has been beaten to death by his stepfather and mother for not reading his Bible, authorities said. CHULA VISTA, CA — An elementary school teacher suspected of luring children online in order to obtain nude pictures of them has been arrested, the San Diego Police Department announced Tuesday. 41-year-old John Kinlock, a first grade teacher at Wolf Canyon Elementary School, is accused of pretending to be a 13-year-old girl in order to meet boys on a web site and get them to send him nude photographs and video.

CAMDEN, NJ — Toxicology tests show a woman who decapitated her 2-year-old son and then killed herself in August had smoked PCP-laced marijuana. 33-year old Chevonne Thomas called 911 to admit decapitating the toddler just minutes before stabbing herself to death. Authorities say the recorded conversation shows Thomas initially blamed her boyfriend for killing Zahree.

Outraged parents and teens formed a human chain around faculty vehicles, demanding answers. Suzette Moreno, 13, of Terrell, TX, died last Thursday after being removed off of life support. Although the Dallas County Medical Examiner found no signs of physical trauma, family and friends of the victim believe that Moreno’s cause of death was a result of a bullying incident.
