A former teacher from upstate New York who spent three years in prison for having an affair with a 14-year-old student skipped out on her parole and is now on the run from police, who fear that she may be involved without another child. Buffalo police say convicted sex offender Cara Dickey, 34, removed her electronic ankle bracelet in violation of her parole condition and vanished Wednesday. ‘We know that the electronic bracelet has been detached. She has not responded to attempts to reach her,’ said Peter K. Cutler, a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

A Washington, D.C., police officer involved in a paternity dispute with his mistress shot the woman dead and left their infant child to die in a hot car, prosecutors say. Richmond Phillips killed the two because he didn’t want to pay child support, prosecuting attorney Angela Alsobrooks said during opening statements in a Maryland court on Monday. Phillips is being tried on two counts of first-degree murder along with child abuse and firearms charges.

A man has been arrested on several counts of child molestation after a teenage boy claim he was sexually abused by him from the age of 12. Donald Vincent, 29, a youth ice skating coach was the boy’s trainer and is said to have repeatedly molested the teen for three years. The alleged abuse of the now 17-year-old victim took place at Mr Vincent’s home in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles, and there may be other victims, officers said.

A mother who is accused of beating her two-year-old son to death attended parenting classes where she ‘pretended to be a caring mother’, a court heard today. Rebecca Shuttleworth, 24, and her boyfriend Luke Southerton, 31, are accused of torturing Keanu Williams over a period of several months and battering him to death over 48 hours. Keanu, nicknamed ‘Kiwi, was found with 37 devastating injuries when he was found dead by a paramedic on the sofa of Southerton’s flat in Ward End, Birmingham, in January last year.

A court in Riverside, California on Monday has ruled that Joseph Hall, now 12-years-old is guilty for using a .357 magnum revolver to shoot his father, Jeff Hall, 32, at point blank range after he had a fight with his wife and passed out drunk on the couch. A 5-year-old girl who was abducted from a Philadelphia school on Monday has been found safe, and now authorities are looking for the people who snatched her. Nailla Robinson was found hiding under a jungle gym in a park in Upper Darby by a man who heard her cries on Tuesday morning, police said. She told the man who found her, “I’ve been stolen,” Philadelphia police said.

Most children who are sexually abused are not attacked by strangers, or by strange men on the Internet, or the creepy guy at the park. Fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, community leaders, cousins, siblings, step-siblings, and church officials are more likely to be the culprits when it comes to sexual abuse. But you are not helpless to stop them.

A Hammond, Ind. man was sentenced Friday to 80 years in prison in the 2009 neglect and death of his 13-year-old son Christian Choate. Riley Choate, 40, previously pleaded guilty to felony charges of neglect of a dependent causing death, moving a body after death and depriving Christian’s sister Christina of an education, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.
