A man has been charged with child abuse and cruelty after he whipped a girl to the beat of Robin Thicke’s controversial ‘Blurred Lines’ song while filming it on his phone. Steven Fillingim, 40, of Pensacola, is accused of repeatedly physically abusing an underage female. A charge sheet shows that the victim claims Fillingim returned home on Saturday night and branded her lazy for not vacuuming and deliberately missing school earlier in the week. He allegedly hit her face with a belt and his hands. According to an arrest report, he forced his victim to hold a 20-pound weight in front of her body, and then hold an 8-pound weight behind her body, Miami New Times reported. He allegedly then forced her to dig mud for 90 minutes before eventually allowing her to stop and go to bed at 1.30 am.

An 11-month old baby girl has died after her mother’s boyfriend allegedly shook her for crying too much. The child, named Aliyah Faye Wild, died Tuesday night after arriving at the emergency room unresponsive and in critical condition at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, Utah on September 10, according to the Deseret News. Tyler Ryan Geary, 25, was arrested during an investigation of child abuse, but he later bailed out of jail and has not been charged.

ELLENWOOD, GA – Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl after they say home invaders abducted her from her house south of Atlanta. Police early Tuesday morning were stopping cars and checking them during an all-out search for Ayvani Hope Perez. Clayton County police say the two men entered the Ellenwood home through a back door around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.

A former West Virginia church custodian will serve 15 to 35 years in prison for molesting a 7-year-old relative who he claims had tempted him by ‘prancing around in short shorts.’ Charles Brainard Hogan, 58, of Cross Lanes, said Wednesday he was ashamed of what he did. But he also told Kanawha County Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib that he assaulted the girl because his wife had not slept with him in three years.

A Colorado reporter has filed a lawsuit to have the indictment made against the parents of slain JonBenet Ramsey made public more than a decade after it was originally filed. The 1996 murder of the 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant made headlines for years and the latest revelation in the saga was that one of the grand juries called in to examine the case originally felt that the girl’s parents were in part responsible for her death. Back in 1999 a Colorado grand jury voted to indict the Ramseys on charges of child abuse resulting in death, a felony that can carry up to 48 years in prison. Sources, including members of the grand jury, told the Boulder Daily Camera in January that the District Attorney at the time, Alex Hunter, refused to sign the indictment vote without giving a public explanation. Instead, the indictment remained sealed and Patsy and John Ramsey were never charged.

An 8 week old Fort Walton Beach infant has died from her injuries in an aggravated child abuse case which is now a homicide. Infant Braelyn Thomason died late Monday night at Sacred Heart in Pensacola due to her injuries. 23-year old William Thomason had been arrested on aggravated child abuse charges. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says it will upgrade those charges to homicide.

The 2,837 sex offenders represented five percent of the 59,347 deportable aliens that have been released from detention under the supervision of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to the GAO report, which was released Thursday.

Police have arrested a homeless man they say waited inside a gas station bathroom and attacked a young girl at gunpoint. 40-year-old Christopher Gard was arrested Sunday near I-40 and Meridian. According to Oklahoma City Police, Gard was hiding in the bathroom wearing a pair of women’s underwear when the attack happened. The girl and her family were traveling through Oklahoma when they stopped for gas. A family member took the girl inside the gas station to use the bathroom.

SANTA ANA, CA — A mother involved in a contentious custody case was charged Monday with killing her 13-year-old autistic son and 9-year-old daughter in California after a judge ordered them returned to their father in Georgia. Authorities weren’t releasing many details, but one of the special circumstances filed by prosecutors against 42-year-old Marilyn Edge alleges the children were poisoned.

Sauk Village, Illinois – Robin Erwin, a 31-year-old south Chicago woman, was jailed Saturday after she allegedly stabbed her teen son to death during an argument over ice cream. According to police, Erwin and her son were arguing about ice cream that morning when Erwin stabbed her son directly in the heart. The victim, 17-year-old Diontae Erwin, was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:41 p.m.
