AMBER ALERT – The New Castle County Police Department is investigating the possible abduction of a juvenile, described as a white female 10-12 years of age, which occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. at Albion Drive in the areas Elliott Street, in the community of Whispering Pines Townhomes, Newark, DE. Witnesses have reported that the juvenile female was abducted while walking and pulled into an older unknown make or model SUV, white in color, with rear dark tinted windows, and a roof rack. Suspect is described as a male approximately 30 years of age. The suspect vehicle was last seen making a right onto Old Newark Road. There is no further physical or clothing description for the victim or suspect at this time. Bullying is unfortunately a frequent occurrence. A survey of teenagers by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 20% had been the victim of bullying during the previous year, while figures collected by the Workplace Bullying Institute showed almost a quarter of employees had experienced bullying at some point in their careers. Not only does bullying have a huge emotional impact for those on the receiving end, but it can have a significant adverse effect on health, both in terms of current and future health. Beyond the injuries sustained if bullying takes a physical form, as a whole being bullied can influence everything from mental health to how strong your immune system is and whether you will develop chronic diseases in the future.

A FRENCH mother who allegedly held down her four-year-old son while he was raped by his step-father in a prison visiting room has gone on trial in Strasbourg. In a case which could lead to the prison itself also facing legal action, Sabrina Bonner, 25, and the step-father, her partner Lionel Barthelemy, 31, are charged with multiple sexual assaults on the boy, who is now eight and in the care of social services. Barthelemy admits raping the child in the visiting room at the Toul detention centre in eastern France in February 2010, but claims it was an isolated act initiated by Ms Bonner.

CINCINNATI, W.VA — A priest charged with taking a 10-year-old boy to West Virginia for sex more than two decades ago was found guilty on Friday. Federal jurors in Cincinnati found Robert Poandl guilty of one count of transporting a minor in interstate commerce with the intent of engaging him in sex, a charge that carries a possible sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Poandl, from the suburban Cincinnati-based Glenmary Home Missioners, took the boy to Spencer on Aug. 3, 1991, and raped him while visiting a church there, prosecutors said. Poandl’s attorney, Stephen Wenke, told jurors the allegations were false and denied the boy was even on the trip.

Flanked by his family and a team of security guards, Rolf Harris cut a frail figure yesterday as he appeared in court for the first time to face sex abuse and child porn charges. He is facing nine charges of indecent assault relating to attacks on two girls aged 14 and 15 in the 1980s and claims that he made four indecent images of children last year. His counsel, Sonia Woodley QC, indicated that he would fight the charges.

Nancy is a single mom struggling to raise two young children with autism. When an emergency with one of her kids arose she called on her tenants for help. While the 10-year-old boy was in the care of Melissa Nicole Jones and Matthew Wilson Freethy-Swimm, Athens-Clarke police said the couple sexually assaulted him. According to Nancy, her son told her that Freethy-Swimm held a knife to his throat while Jones had sex with him.

A 45-year-old man from western Sweden has been charged on 25 counts of sex offences against children, including rape. The investigation against the man was opened when a 13-year-old girl committed suicide in Kumla in March. The man has now been charged for offences including gross exploitation of children for sexual posing, aggravated sexual abuse, child rape, molestation, and several cases of attempted aggravated child exploitation for posing.

The community is reacting to a new development in the case of teenage girl who went missing two years ago. Police announced Friday morning that they believe they have found the remains of 14-year-old Chyenne Kircher in the woods behind her home in East Dubuque. She disappeared in October of 2011, but a recent break in the case had agents with the FBI and Illinois State Police digging near the home where she lived with her mother, brother and stepfather. Earlier this week, they charged her stepfather with first degree murder. Terry Abbas is accused of strangling Chyenne, causing her death. While an autopsy will be conducted, police are convinced the remains belong to Chyenne.

A 60-year-old woman is under arrest in Missouri in connection with an alleged child abduction case that took place nearly 13 years ago in Florida, authorities said. Sandy Hatte, who is related to the child’s family, is accused of kidnapping an infant back in 2000, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. “The dad was working, came home from work, and [Hatte] was gone with the baby,” Detective Eric Menconi of the Livingston County Sherriff’s Office told ABC News. “He hasn’t been able to find them since.”

EL CAJON, CA – Tassie Behrens, a 26-year-old California woman whose two toddlers drowned at a friend’s home four months ago, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony child abuse and drug violations in connection with their deaths, CBS affiliate KFMB reports. Behrens was taken into custody without incident at a motel in El Cajon late Thursday morning in connection with the deaths of her 1-year-old daughter, Harley Bradford, and her 2-year-old son, Jason Bradford, authorities say.

Reports of pictures showing abuse of children under 10 have risen by almost a third in the past year. Amazon is top of a “hotlist of targets” drawn up by the leading internet child abuse watchdog in a fresh attempt to tackle what it says is a steep rise in reports of extreme images online. The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which polices child sexual abuse material, said it had seen a tenfold increase in reports to its hotline about graphic images on third-party pages hosted on computer hardware provided by the retail giant.

A Northern California woman who burned, whipped and brutalized her fiancé’s daughter while he was in prison has been convicted of torture and sentenced to life behind bars. A judge sentenced 37-year-old Duewa Lee immediately following her conviction by a jury on Thursday on 11 felony counts. Lee received an indeterminate life term on the torture conviction, plus another nine years for the other counts related to the abuses endured by the girl. The girl was 12 at the time of the abuse and is now 14.
