The retired teacher whose brutal murder rocked a picture-perfect town designed by Disney has been accused of having a history of sexually abusing his male pupils. A respected oceanographer who was among the first scientists to explore the sunken wreckage of the Titanic is facing up to 20 years in prison after 22,000 child porn images were found on his computer. Hard drives belonging to Dr William Kenneth Stewart were seized by investigators in Florida, U.S., and later found to contain the enormous stash of indecent images of children. The 62-year-old, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of receiving child pornography, is due to be sentenced tomorrow at West Palm Beach federal court.  READ MORE HERE

Lake Wales, FL  – Maisa Alvarez, a 42-year-old Florida woman was jailed Tuesday after she allegedly tied her 7-year-old son’s hands together and then stabbed him repeatedly in the chest and arms. According to Lake Wales police, officers were dispatched to the family’s home after Alvarez called 911 and told dispatchers that her son had been stabbed.  READ MORE HERE

Only a backyard fence separates  sex offender from 10-year-old victim

EL SEGUNDO, CA — A soccer coach from the South Bay was arrested for alleged lewd acts with a 15-year-old girl, and police say there could be more victims. David Tinoco, 50, was arrested at Recreation Park on Main Street in El Segundo, just about a block away from the El Segundo Police Station. He has since been released on bond. Police say that the victim reported the alleged assault to El Segundo police. Detectives then worked with the girl, who arranged to meet Tinaco at the park. READ MORE HERE

East Moline Police have arrested a man and a woman on charges of predatory sexual assault. 30-year-old Randi Hayes-Manske and 31-year-old Shawn Block from Moline are charged with two counts of predatory assault of a minor. Police say the child in this case is 6-years-old.  READ MORE HERE

As Harold Thomas Shytle carefully shuffled to the table on the left side of the courtroom, the family sitting on the front bench embraced one another. One woman clasped her hands tightly together, as if in prayer, while tears leaked from the corners of her eyes. Another woman held her hand over her mouth. Shytle was arrested in June and charged with indecent liberties and first-degree sex offense with a child after a 7-year-old girl told her mother Shytle sexually abused her, according to court testimony. A Somerville District Court judge this morning set bail at $10,000 for an Episcopal priest after the priest’s arraignment on charges of sexually assaulting a child. The Rev. Paul A. LaCharite, 65, of Boston faces one count of assault with intent to rape a child and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child. The crimes allegedly occurred over a 10-year period at the St. James Episcopal Church in Somerville, where LaCharite was assigned from 1989 to 2005, prosecutors said. READ MORE HERE

Matthew George Nielsen, a former assistant prosecutor with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, was arrested over the weekend on eight felony charges relating to domestic violence, child abuse and witness tampering. The arrest was the second for Nielsen in less than a month. Police say Nielsen assaulted a woman in the presence of his two children, both minors. TULSA, Oklahoma -A Tulsa man and his wife were arrested Friday, charged with several counts of child abuse and permitting child abuse, respectively. Matthew Charles Oeth, 26, was charged with three counts of child abuse by injury. Tulsa County District Court documents show one count each of alleged abuse of three different children, ages 3, 4, and 6.  READ MORE HERE

Case Facts: John Dupire is serving a 10-year to 25-year sentence for the offenses of rape and gross sexual imposition (four counts). On February 7, 1994 a 36-year-old man entered a restaurant and saw John Dupire with a little boy. The man immediately recognized Dupire as the schoolteacher who raped him in a motel during a trip in 1969. The man then went to police and advised them Dupire had molested him. The victim stated he went to authorities because “I just saw that little boy. That could have been me.”

Two days later police began investigating Dupire who was an elementary school physical education teacher and also a soccer and reserve wrestling coach. Police interviewed more than 60 people. According to former Butler County prosecutor John Holcomb there was a pattern of abuse from 1969-1992. Almost all Dupire’s victims were between 10 and 12 years of age. He targeted single-parent boys and befriended both the boys and their mothers. He bought the boys Starter jackets, athletic shoes and took them on vacations and trips. British Child Bride Scandal

A Muslim cleric at the center of an illegal marriage scandal has stepped down after he allegedly offered to marry a 12-year-old girl to a man in his 20s. Imam Mohamed Kassamali is said to have told an undercover reporter posing as a father that he could carry out a ceremony for his school-aged daughter. He allegedly told the Sunday Times journalist: ‘If it (the marriage) was not possible, I would have told you straight away… I would love the girl to go to her husband’s houses (sic) as soon as possible, the younger the better.  READ MORE HERE

A man facing charges of raping a teenage girl two years ago murdered the 16-year-old last week so that she could not testify against him in his upcoming sexual assault trial, said police. Franklin Davis, 30, of Irving, Texas, confessed to shooting dead Shania Gray after he was arrested on unrelated driving offenses on Friday and police began questioning him about the girl’s death. A mother and father have been jailed for allegedly shackling their teenage son to a chair every night for six months. Virginia Smith, 63, and her husband Douglas Smith allegedly handcuffed the 17-year-old and used padlocked chains to pin him to a chair.
