Day care shut down after a little boy ‘was duct taped, hung by his ankles and forced to sit in soiled clothes’

A day care center in northeastern Pennsylvania has been shut down after official say children were duct taped and abused and punishment.  According to the Department of Public Welfare, two employees at Just 4 Kids Day Care and Learning Center in Hamlin held a child upside-down by his ankles to stop him from biting staff and made the boy walk around in underwear to punish him for soiling his pants. Officials say the boy’s hands and feet were duct-taped to keep him still. The owner of the business, Doreen Tomasetti, 42, has appealed the closing of her day care center. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A registered sex offender in Winston-Salem was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a child at church. Henry Clifford Byrd Sr., 65, has been charged with one count of first degree rape of a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. Winston-Salem police said they were called to New Bethel Baptist Church at 1016 N. There’s been some buzz this week about the newest scientific discovery that can help the in vitrofertilization (IVF) process: doctors now have the ability to harvest the eggs of aborted baby girls and use them to aid women who have difficulty conceiving. IVF is already riddled with moral conundrums, not the least of which is the “selective reduction” abortions that often follow an overly successful IVF procedure (where a woman aborts one or more of multiple babies she has unwittingly conceived). There is also the problem of fertilized human zygotes (aka little humans) who are not selected for implantation being simply discarded without a second thought as to their intrinsic value as humans. BAKERSFIELD, CA — A transient could be responsible for kidnapping and raping a 6-year-old girl. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office released a composite image of the suspect late Monday. The reported abduction allegedly happened that afternoon as the child played in her yard near the area of Buckley Avenue and Garber Way, near East Panama Lane and South Union Avenue in southeast Bakersfield. “We are getting tips and we’re following up on those tips,” sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt told Eyewitness News Tuesday afternoon. New York police pepper-sprayed a woman and her family—including a five-month-old and two-year-old—after accusing her of trying to get on the subway without paying, a lawsuit picked up by the Courthouse News Service claims. Marilyn Taylor says she was getting on the subway with her four- and two-year-olds, five-month-old, and their father on Aug. 9; she took a stroller through a service entrance, which police took to mean she was skipping the fare, the complaint says. A Stevens County, Washington,  judge has deemed two boys, aged 10 and 11, competent enough to stand trial for conspiracy. According to SkyNews, the boys had plotted to kill a female classmate, along with other children, with a knife and a semi-automatic pistol, which one boy stole from his older brother. LOS ANGELES, CA — A transient with a long criminal record is being sought in the kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl who was snatched from her San Fernando Valley home before dawn last week and abandoned hours later in front of a hospital. Police identified Tobias Dustin Summers, 30, as a suspect Saturday, but they couldn’t elaborate on the motive or what led them to him. They also don’t know if the girl was targeted. “We have no information that the family knew this individual or that the individual knew any members of the family,” Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese said. About 40 detectives have been investigating since the girl was abducted from her home at around 3 a.m. Wednesday. A man believed to be the father of a three-year-old girl who was allegedly murdered by her aunt’s boyfriend has been retrained in court as he yelled expletives while coming face-to-face with the killer. As the judge ruled on bond for Jessie Rodriguez in Leighton Criminal Courthouse, Illinois, the man stood up and shouted: ‘That’s horses****! There should be no bail!’ As deputies ordered him to be quiet, the man continued: ‘You make sure they f*** the s*** out of him! More than 10% of world’s population of children overall diagnosed with ADHD

Almost one in five high school boys has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as well as 11 per cent of school age children overall, according to new research. Data compiled by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and published in the New York Times found a staggering rise in the number of diagnoses over the last ten years. It raises the specter of thousands of children being placed on stimulant drugs like Adderal or Ritalin and questions whether diagnosis numbers are out of proportion to reality. Man claims he was sexually abused at age 16 at Sesame Street star’s Manhattan apartment

Sesame Street puppeteer Kevin Clash is facing a fifth lawsuit from a young man alleging sexual abuse. Kevin Kiadii was just 16 when he alleges that the so-called voice of Elmo ‘groomed and co-erced him into sexual contact’, including full penetration, at his Manhattan home. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Mr Kiadii’s attorney Jeff Herman revealed his intention to file the suit. He said: ‘By standing up now my client is standing up for his 16-year-old self. He wasn’t able to consent. Facebook sex crimes soar: Offences via social networks more than quadruple in last four years

Sex offences linked to Facebook or Twitter users have rocketed in the last four years, a Mirror investigation reveals. And in an another alarming trend, pedophiles are increasingly logging on to the social networking sites to target children. A total of 1,642 cases since 2009 have been reported to police where the sites played a part in the commission or aftermath of a crime. Statistics obtained under freedom of information laws show the number has more than quadrupled from 139 four years ago to 614 last year.
