CHULA VISTA, CA — A Chula Vista elementary school tutor and volunteer youth football coach accused of repeatedly molesting a young relative pleaded not guilty Monday to five felony charges of sexual abuse against a minor. Carlos Ojeda, 20, was ordered held on $800,000 bail and told to have no contact with the alleged victim. THEY’VE BEEN MISSING FOR OVER 2-MONTHS NOW

SAN DIEGO – The fate of a mother and son who disappeared two months ago in La Jolla remains a mystery, police said. Tammy Rief, 43, and her 4-year old son Jonah were last seen along Prospect Drive at the La Jolla Recreation Center on April 28. They vanished without a trace. FONTANA, CA — A teacher at Fontana’s AB Miller High School was arrested Saturday and accused of instructing summer-school students to haze others, and the charges one of the offending students is facing suggest the hazing may have been sexual in nature. Fontana police officials on Sunday issued a news release, announcing arrests made in connection with the hazing of a student but only referred to the incidents as assaults. What is “Statute of Limitations?”
A statute of limitations (or SOL), simply, is the maximum amount of time one has to bring a lawsuit from the time of the injury or other ground for a lawsuit. SOLs vary from state to state and from claim to claim. The statute of limitations may also be set to begin running at different times. Some SOLs begin running at the time of the injury and others begin running when the injury is discovered. In cases with minors, the SOL is “tolled” or doesn’t begin to run until the minor turns 18. Some states, like Delaware and Florida, have eliminated the statue of limitations for child sexual abuse altogether; others also have a “discovery rule” which simply states that the statue of limitations do not begin to run until a claim “accrues.” (instead of the original date of injury)

There are two ways in which a CSC case can be charged. The first is CIVIL: civil claims are brought on by the VICTIMS to recover for their injuries. The second is CRIMINAL: criminal cases are brought on by prosecutors and are punishable by state laws and guidelines.

A woman was charged with abusing her 10-year-old daughter who weighed just 32 pounds when she was found locked in a closet that reeked of urine.
