$10K reward offered in South Philadelphia attempted kidnapping
A 10-year-old girl and her 2-year-old brother were walking back from buying sweets in South Philadelphia when a man suddenly came from behind and tried to make off with the terrified girl. He placed his hand over her mouth lifted her from the ground and, as the girl’s brother screamed, the man stumbled as he tried to drag the girl towards his car. Jeffrey and Rebecca Trebilcock were accused by their 14-year-old adopted son of starving and abusing him and his four adopted siblings while the biological children in the family were given proper food. Delhi tops the list of States where the highest number of crimes against children were committed in 2011 while Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of rape and murder cases of kids respectively. A total of 33,098 cases of crime against children were reported in the country in 2011 as compared to 26,694 cases in 2010, suggesting an increase of 24 per cent. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, the rate of crime against children was highest in Delhi (25.4 per cent) followed by Andaman and Nicobar Islands (20.3 per cent), Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh (7 per cent each), Madhya Pradesh (6 per cent) and Goa (5.1 per cent) as compared to the national average of 2.7. FRANKLIN, Nebraska — A 35-year-old woman already accused of prostituting her 14-year-old and 7-year-old daughters has been charged with human trafficking and other felony counts in south-central Nebraska’s Franklin County. Most people do not want to hear about child molestation, and would prefer to pretend that it just doesn’t occur. We know, however, that this is simply not the case. Joe Paterno ‘would face criminal charges if he were still alive’: Report slams ‘powerful men at Penn State’ who turned a blind eye to Sandusky’s sexual abuse of boys
If legendary football coach Joe Paterno were still alive he would most likely be facing criminal charges for his part in the Jerry Sandusky child-sex scandal. The damning Freeh Report leaves no room for doubt that Paterno was certainly aware of allegations of Sandusky abusing young boys in 1998 and may in fact have assisted in covering up reports of the molestation.
