A Republican politician personally endorsed by vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is today at the center of a storm after a controversial interview emerged in which he relayed his father’s advice that ‘some girls rape easy.’ Desperately trying to control the damage, Wisconsin state Rep. Roger Rivard, claimed that repeating his father’s comments were meant as a warning that a woman could agree to sex but then later claim it wasn’t consensual. Sandusky to KEEP his $900,000 in pension payments in spite of his 30 year jail sentence after abusing 10 boys

Convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky will be allowed to keep the more than $900,000 he earned in state pension payments in spite of his recent sentencing of 30 to 60 years in prison. Because of the bylaws of the Pennsylvania state employee’s retirement system, the former football coach will keep the hundreds of thousands of dollars he earned following his 1999 retirement from Penn State University’s sports program. The state’s forfeiture law does not authorize the government body to go after money paid before the date of a plea or conviction, meaning he will keep everything awarded between 1999 and September 2012. An inmate on death row used his last breath to protest his innocence of the murder of a 12-year-old girl as he was executed in Texas last night despite his legal team arguing he was mentally ill. Jonathan Green, 44, was jailed for the abduction, rape and strangling of Christina Neal, 12, whose body was found at his home a month after she was reported missing in 2000. Several last ditch appeals were made on the basis of his mental health in an attempt to save him from the death penalty but Green was given a lethal injection after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the arguments to spare him. Authorities combing Pattridge Park open space in Arvada, Colorado discovered a body Wednesday evening, but will not say if it is the body of missing Westminster 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway who disappeared on Friday on her way to school. On Wednesday, around 6:40 p.m., Westminster Police Department tweeted the following new information in the ongoing investigation: This afternoon a body was discovered near the Pattridge Park Open Space in the City of Arvada.  READ MORE HERE

WAYNE — An Essex County sheriff’s officer has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing two minors. Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes says 48-year-old Thomas Ingham of Wayne was arrested Thursday. Prosecutors say Ingham allegedly sexually assaulted two family friends when they were between the ages of eight and 14 years-old. READ MORE HERE

A serial pedophile who abused girls as young as two, including two of his own daughters, has walked free from a court because of his bad health. Gerald Longman, who is aged 78, was given an absolute discharge despite being convicted of a string of attacks on girls which date back to the 1960s. He committed four indecent assaults and two rapes, and incited a girl under 14 to carry out an indecent act, but a judge handed him an absolute discharge because he suffers from dementia. NEWPORT BEACH — A professional clown was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in state prison for raping a girl a decade ago in Fullerton. Jose Guadalupe Jimenez, 43, of Anaheim pleaded guilty to one felony count of a lewd act upon a child under 14 and one felony count of a forcible lewd act on a child under 14. “He will be required to register as a sex offender for life. A doctor testified today that a mother who glued her two-year-old daughter’s hands to a wall also beat the toddler so badly that she suffered significant brain trauma and bleeding inside her skull. Elizabeth Escalona pleaded guilty on July 12 to injury to a child. The 23-year-old mother is being sentenced today. She faces up to life in prison. A state district judge will decide her punishment. The doctor showed photos of the beaten child in court this morning in which she had bruises, cuts and bite marks all over her body shortly after she was brought to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Syracuse, NY – Heather Lacey, a 25-year-old New York woman was jailed Wednesday after she allegedly locked her toddler son in a bedroom for up to 22 hours a day without supervision or access to a bathroom. According to DeWitt Police, an investigation was launched on Monday after detectives received a tip that alleged a woman was keeping her son locked inside a small bedroom unattended for long periods of time. Body of 17-month-old Justin Kowalczik found buried in Long Island backyard

Buried beneath a Long Island backyard where neighborhood kids played and parents sipped drinks was a deep, dark secret — the body of a 17-month-old boy. State police detectives unearthed the remains of tiny Justin Kowalczik, who was discarded more than two years ago behind the suburban home where his mother quietly raised his two half-siblings, cops said Saturday. “I could tell she was hiding something,” said Patricia Ruane, the baby-sitter for Heather Kowalczik’s surviving kids. “Something was off. Something was very off with that woman.” No arrests were made after the body was dug up from the far right corner of the Farmingdale backyard — but police quickly identified the mom’s boyfriend as a person of interest. MOBILE, Alabama — Authorities are investigating why a University of South Alabama officer fatally shot an 18-year-old freshman who they say was naked and acting erratically outside the campus police station early Saturday.
