Posted by Sandra On July - 9 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

If it takes an entire village to raise a child, it also takes an entire village to prevent child abuse.

That is a lesson we might take from the brief and tragic life of Prhaze Galvan, a 3-year-old Kimball Township child who died Jan. 15 after months of cruel and systematic abuse.

A St. Clair County, MI jury needed only 2 hours Wednesday to convict the child’s father and stepmother of torture, first-degree child abuse and felony murder.

One case outlines a teacher and women’s basketball coach at Southington High School allegedly having inappropriate behavior with female athletes. Another: a teacher accused of slapping her disabled student’s hands and making another stand in the rain with no coat.
