Woman Gets LIFE For Beating 10-MO To Death

PHOENIX — A Mesa woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2004 death of her baby daughter. Prosecutors say 26-year-old Shawnte Shuree Jones will have to serve 35 years of her sentence before she can apply for parole. A Maricopa County Superior Court judge on Friday also sentenced Jones to a consecutive 17-year prison term for child abuse.
