Woman Arrested for Attempting To Set Her 3-YO Child On Fire
NEEDLES, CA — San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman Sunday and accused her of trying to kill a 3-year-old boy by setting him on fire. Deputies responded about 9 p.m. to a report of a woman throwing a lit match at a toddler near the intersection of K and Spruce Streets in Needles. They arrived and determined that Elizabeth Smoka, 56, of Mohave Valley, Ariz., threw a rag soaked in gasoline on top of a blanket covering 3-year-old boy while he was in his stroller, according to a sheriff’s news release.
