Making the internet safer for children
The Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) seeks to build an effective, international partnership of law enforcement agencies, non government organizations and industry to help protect children from online child abuse.
The objectives of the VGT are:
- to make the internet a safer place
- to identify, locate and help children at risk
- to hold perpetrators appropriately to account
The VGT logo reaffirms the VGT’s purpose that the child is the key focus of the VGT and the eye is always roaming the internet, across international borders, watching over our children to keep them safe online. READ MORE HERE
By the time you finish reading this, 15 children will have been abused; In the next five minutes, 30 more; Within the next hour, 360 more; And by tonight, close to 8,000+ children will have suffered from abuse, 5 of which will die. Child abuse has increased 134% since 1980 and is now considered a worldwide epidemic. The high jump in child abuse deaths and the shocking increase in statistics highlights the frightening lack of public knowledge.
