U.S. Olympians Awarded $60M for Childhood Molestation vs. Coach
A California judge has awarded $60 million to three female taekwondo competitors who were sexually abused by their coach. The judgment was issued last week in Los Angeles Superior Court against coach Marc Gitelman, 51, who is serving more than four years in state prison for molesting the female athletes between 2007 and 2013. During the time the abuse occurred, the three women — Yasmin Brown, Kendra Gatt and Brianna Bordon, all of whom agreed to be identified publicly — were minors and aspiring Olympic taekwondo athletes.
