Teacher Abused, Strangled Child
A special education teacher in the Appleton Area School District was charged Tuesday with nine counts of intentionally causing bodily harm and one count of strangulation and suffocation related to her treatment of five students over a two-year period. Each of the charges against Mary C. Berglund, 53, carries a possible fine of up to $10,000 and up to six years in prison, acccording to the criminal complaint filed in Calumet County.
