Survivor-Author Dave Pelzer visits Joplin In Recovery Efforts

JOPLIN, Mo. —Author Dave Pelzer told the story of his horrific childhood of abuse in his best-selling book “ https://regenamex.com/3xdc6p233 A Child Called ‘It’: One Child’s Courage to Survive,” but he is in Joplin to tell the story of the city’s resilience after an EF5 tornado hit the city on May 22. Pelzer said he travels the country presenting information about child abuse and counseling survivors and educators. One of the things he’s doing in Joplin is working with foster families who have been traumatized by the tornado, but he’s also pitching in on the recovery effort. This week he is working with volunteers at College Heights Christian Church, passing out supplies.
