Solider Charged In 23-MO Toddler’s Death
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A former Fort Campbell soldier was scheduled to start trial Monday, but it was postponed. Investigators said he is responsible for the death of a 23-month-old boy. Doctors said Keegan Andrew Metz had head injuries, bruises all over his body and there was evidence he had been raped. Starner claimed the child fell down in the bathtub. Police said the boy’s mother left Keegan alone with Starner when she went to the store. When she got home the child was in bed unresponsive. The mom called 911, and he was taken by EMS to Gateway Hospital. Keegan was then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
