San Francisco Pays $4M In Child Abuse Lawsuit
San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a $4 million payout to settle a lawsuit brought against the city by the twin brother of a girl who was beaten and starved to death after San Francisco officials placed the children in foster care with their aunt. The surviving twin sued the city, Antioch School District and others in 2009 alleging failures in oversight that allowed him to be abused at the hands of his aunt.
