Roman Polanski eludes extradition to U.S. for child rape
Award-winning director Roman Polanski will not be extradited to the United States and is free to leave says the Swiss Ministry of Justice.
CNN reports the request for extradition was denied because the U.S. did not supply all the legal information requested by the Swiss government, and because Polanski thought he would not be arrested in their country — despite an international warrant issued against him since 2005.
