Prosecutor Sentenced to 50-Years for Child Rape

PIERRE, South Dakota – Former Walworth County state attorney was sentenced to 50-years in prison on two counts of first-degree rape of a child. 35-year-old Chris Jansen was indicted last year in court on six counts of child rape charges. He pleaded guilty to two of the alleged counts; the remaining charges will be dropped as part of a plea deal bargain.
