Prominent Attorney Sentenced for Baby-Selling Scheme
SAN DIEGO — A prominent Poway attorney and a nurse were sentenced Friday for organizing a scheme to sell babies for $100,000 each. Theresa Erickson, 44, specialized in reproductive law. She pleaded guilty last year to a conspiracy to commit wire fraud. A San Diego federal judge sentenced Erickson to 5 months in prison followed by 7 months of home confinement.
