Parents Arrested in 2-Yr Old’s Death
PHOENIX – Phoenix police charged a 24-year-old man with murder after a two-year-old child was pronounced dead Saturday night as a result of his abusive behavior, officials said. Authorities responded to a report of a child not breathing around 9 p.m. near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road, said Sgt. Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department. “It’s just sad,” said neighbor Brenda Witzman. “I’m a mom of four myself. I can’t understand why people would want to hurt an innocent child like that.” Fire personnel transported the two-year-old boy to a local hospital where medical staff declared the boy deceased, Martos said.
