Nurse fired after being placed on child-abuse registry
A Knoxville obstetrics nurse faces drunken-driving charges and unemployment after her child called 911 to report that he and his mother were in a car that was stuck on a set of railroad tracks.
Mary Beth Koeller, 45, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 7 after attending a birthday party in Marion County. Koeller allegedly had left the party and was in her car, along with her 9-year-old son, when she made a turn onto what she thought was an alley.
