Shawn Says:
The frustrating part of reporting child abuse is the lack of “evidence”. My then 3 yr. old granddaughter was being abused by her stepmom. A huge bite on her arm was reported but the stepmom got away with it because there was not conclusive evidence that it was she who did it. The fact that my granddaughter could not tell the time of day or the day that it happened also made it hard to make charges stick. An abused animal that cannot tell the day or time of the abuse has more rights than a child does. Unfortunately, a child has to suffer many incidents of abuse before he or she gets any justice. Sometimes death occurs first. It is very enraging!
