Police got involved after receiving a call from social services and the fact that a registered sex offender who lived in the home, Clyde McCollum, was bragging about being in love with the girl and told others that he was going to marry her. During their investigation it was revealed that Bryan Hearron, the boyfriend of the girl’s mother, had been repeatedly raping the child. “Bryan stated he was providing lessons to [the child] regarding bad things that could happen to her from sex offenders,” the criminal complaint reads.
