Mother Charged With Torture

SAN DIEGO — Four new felony counts, including torture, were filed Monday against a San Diego woman accused of abusing her 9-year-old daughter over a 17-month period, resulting in the girl’s death. Crystal Cardenas, 26, was previously charged with murder in connection with the Jan. 17, 2011, death of Elizabeth Holloway.
