PALMDALE, CA — The mother of an 8-year-old boy found not breathing in a Palmdale apartment was arrested on suspicion of child abuse Thursday. Rescue officials received a call about a child needing help around 11 p.m. Wednesday. The boy was found unconscious, with markings around his ankles suggesting he may have been tied up, detectives said. He was also found to have cigarette burns on his body and a skull fracture.
