Mom Stabbed Twin Daughters To Death With Sword Before Attempting Suicide

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Monica McCarrick, 28, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder, accused of using a sword to stab her twin 3-year-old daughters to death, nearly decapitating one of them, before attempting using the sword to slash her own throat and wrists and setting a closet on fire. Firefighters found McCarrick and the bodies of her two dead children Tuesday evening after responding to reports of a fire in McCarrick’s apartment. She allegedly placed Lily and Tori’s bodies against the front door to prevent anyone from gaining access inside. She was taken to John Muir Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
