Mother of infant Chance Walsh charged with 1st degree murder

The mother of infant Chance Walsh was formally charged with first-degree murder Saturday. Kristen Bury, 32, of North Port made her first appearance before a Sarasota County judge Saturday morning and was denied bond. She also faces one count of child neglect in the death of Chance, whose body was found in a makeshift grave Thursday. The baby’s father, Joseph Walsh, also will be charged with murder after he is extradited from South Carolina, according to Bury’s probable cause affidavit. “Both Kristen Bury and Joseph Walsh were principals in the commission of 1st degree felony murder,” the affidavit says.
