Gunman dead after college rampage
Ten confirmed people were killed, possibly 13, and twenty injured when a gunman opened fire at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College on Thursday, forcing the nation to face yet another mass shooting. Seven other people were injured, and the shooter is dead, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told reporters. Earlier estimates had put the number of people hurt much higher. Multiple officials identify the shooter as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. Oregon college gunman who made victims stand up and state their religion before shooting them identified as Chris Harper-Mercer, 26, who killed at least ten and injured seven before being shot dead by cops.
