A 2-year-old child has died after a Suitland man admitted to abusing him, police say. Clifton Edward Bernard, 26, was arrested early Wednesday morning after officials received a report of an unresponsive child in the 3800 block of Swann Road. The victim, Jamir Khaden Shipe of the 3800 block of Swann Road in Suitland, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, including head trauma. The child died Thursday, police say. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. READ MORE HERE
