ERWIN — A Unicoi man is facing child abuse and animal cruelty charges following his Tuesday arrest for allegedly striking one of his girlfriend’s children, duct taping her dog’s legs to its body, and rubbing the buttocks of the dog on the faces of her children.

Robert E. Hensley, 29, 3206 Unicoi Drive Lot No. 2, Unicoi, was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect and one count of cruelty to animals.
