Help Block This Child Rapist’s Parole
Case Facts: John Dupire is serving a 10-year to 25-year sentence for the offenses of rape and gross sexual imposition (four counts). On February 7, 1994 a 36-year-old man entered a restaurant and saw John Dupire with a little boy. The man immediately recognized Dupire as the schoolteacher who raped him in a motel during a trip in 1969. The man then went to police and advised them Dupire had molested him. The victim stated he went to authorities because “I just saw that little boy. That could have been me.”
Two days later police began investigating Dupire who was an elementary school physical education teacher and also a soccer and reserve wrestling coach. Police interviewed more than 60 people. According to former Butler County prosecutor John Holcomb there was a pattern of abuse from 1969-1992. Almost all Dupire’s victims were between 10 and 12 years of age. He targeted single-parent boys and befriended both the boys and their mothers. He bought the boys Starter jackets, athletic shoes and took them on vacations and trips.
