Former Teacher Sentenced to 10-Years for Sexual Abuse of Student
HOLLIS, Oklahoma – A former Hollis teacher will serve 10 years in prison for having sex with a student. Jennifer Caswell, 29, was sentenced to 15 years in prison with five years suspended Wednesday by a Harmon County district judge. Her attorney says that’s about double what they were expecting and much stiffer than teachers convicted of similar crimes. In May, Caswell told television host Dr. Phil that she didn’t believe she was a rapist because she did not force anything. In June, Caswell pleaded guilty to rape and sodomy charges in her relations with a 15-year-old student.
